Expected date of delivery

Today is the day I am expecting my baby to be born, but I guess the Lord's plan is different that is why He gave us James Corbin more than 2 months earlier. But I'm still thankful about the things that happened to us, although its really tough and difficult but I guess it made us stronger and our bond as a family is tighter now. I'd like to show some photos of my baby corbin outside the nicu:

1st check up

It was my baby's first check up after a week of being discharged from the hospital. He gained 365grams in weight and 5cm in height. His vitals are ok and no illness except for his Inguinal Hernia, I pray to the Lord that he will heal my son's hernia I don't want him to experience another suffering inside the hospital.

Here are some photos from corby's first check up.

My bambino's Dedication

Let me brief some of you what it meant... (excerpts from about.com)

A Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which believing parents, and sometimes entire families, make a committment before the Lord to submit a child to God's will and to raise that child according to God's Word and God's ways.
Christian parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child in a godly way, prayerfully until he or she can make a decision on his or her own to follow God. Parents who make this vow of committment are instructed to raise the child in the ways of God, and not according to their own ways

Here are some photos taken during my baby's dedication, he wasn't allowed to go out so we stayed inside the house while listening to the pastor's message. There are no pictures taken of him with the sponsors. Mostly inhouse photos.

home at last...

The moment we've been waiting for finally arrived. After 2 months and 4 days at the hospital.. he's going home at last! He is already 1635grams 42cm long when he was discharged. He is still small and thin but it's a big improvement since the day he was born.

We're really excited when we heard the news that the pediatrician finally agreed to take baby corby home. Though we are not that excited to know how much it would cost us still we're very happy that finally he's going home and we get to see him every hour of every day! I thank God for providing the financial assistance we needed, and finally Aug 13, 2007 at 8:20pm James Corbin De Leon-OrdoƱa was discharged.

....And for the bill?? you don't wanna know.. I've signed a promisory note for that...

Check out some photos taken the day he arrived, we don't have a digital camera available so we took it from the webcam that's why its a little bit dark and pixelated.

...He's sensitive still because he's small and his immune defense is not fully developed that's why we wear face mask to protect baby corby...

What's with the name??

My baby's name is James Corbin. Some call him baby james, others plain corbin. But for me and my hubby, we prefer corby.

A few years back I have already thought of a name I would name my children, if its a boy it'll be Marco Joaquim, and if its a girl Alessandra Marie. I just wanted a hispanic name before aside from that I wanted a boy's nick name if my baby is a girl and a girls nick name if my baby is a boy. So I choose those names. I can call Joaquim, Kim and the girl would be called Alex. But it never happened. A sudden change of mind.

For the record even before Kris Aquino named his son James I was already thinking about that as a second name, this is because my dad's name is Jaime and since I owe everything to him I've decided that if I would have a baby boy I would name him after my daddy.

The Corbin part was a bit unique. My husband is the one who chose that name and I find it cool because it is rarely used. It sounds familiar to me... then I remember I've heard that name before. At first I thought I heard it from Disney channel, a mulatto afro-teenager named Corbin Bleu. Then I suddenly recall that the first time I've heard that name was from Fifth Element movie, Corbin Dallas portrayed by Bruce Willis. He proves his usual cool macho, with that underlying bit of sensitivity on that movie.
I kinda love his name now because its a combination of my dad's attitude and the attitude of Bruce Willis from 5th element. My dad is compassionate, very thoughtful and loving person. Bruce Willis' character is cool strong and tough with a bit of sensitivity. After what my son had beenthrough, he deserves his name. A tough baby with a touch of sensitivity.

Second Month- Birthday

Today is James Corbiin's second month-birthday. I went to the hospital few hours ago to greet and cuddle my little angel. He was sleeping soundly when we arrived. There's a big change in him from the time he was first born up until today. I can't help but cry seeing him sleeping like a little angel. God is really good.. all the time.

While watching corby, sleeps I remember the times he's been thru all the testings and tubes attached to him, all those times he was struggling to survive. Now, he's well and good, I can't help but cry. Tears of Joy.. hehehe. He's been through alot at a very young age. I promoise to my son I will take care of him once he's discharged from the hospital. It's his 2nd month as well in the hospital but right now he's no longer in critical condition, they just wanted him to gain a few more grams before he can be released. He is 1528grams now, that would be 3.368lbs. They said that if he reaches 4lbs he can be discharged and I am expecting that by monday he will be discharged already since he gains weight approximately 15-50grams a day.
I am really greatful for the blessings Lord had given me. The best thing was the life of my little boy. I know he came earlier that we've expected, he was scheduled to be born aug 29 but I guess God has his own purpose and reason, I don't have the right to question him. I know it has been too much for us to bear the financial crisis we are in right now, but what's important is that our baby is alive and is now safe.

I'd like to show some progress photos of our baby from day 1 until aug.4. I wanted to take his photo today since its his birthday but I don't have a camera with me. Here are some photos taken from Jun 9, June 10, Jul 18, Jul 29 and Aug. 04:

First viewing- Latest updates

I was so happy to learn that my little angel is already feeding thru bottled nipple. He started last July 25. 10mL ogt( a tube inside his mouth going directly thru his stomach) and 10 mL nipple feeding, and he can suck good. After that he started feeding only thru feeding bottle on his own! He feeds 20ml and later on wanted more so right now, he feeds around 30ml to 45ml milk. He can feed anytime he is hungry.
This has been one of the biggest improvement for him and he constantly gains weight from 20-60 grams a day. Now he can also be viewed by my parents, inlaws. relatives and friends..
Now he could be removed from the incubator anytime soon!

Here are some pictures taken during the first time he was viewed.
